Hello, and thanks for your interested in my project. First of all, let me state that though all work is initially unpaid, should the game take in revenue after production, each contribution will get a fair share of the profits. The game is an FPS/RPG hybrid, built using the UDK. So far I have implemented a game server that players can register, login, traverse a set of persistent empty levels, and shoot/kill any other players in the same level. The game is set in a time after societal and economic collapse. The world is in unrelenting chaos, bolstered by private organizations capitalizing on new, futuristic technology. In the game there will be: abandoned and destroyed towns and cities, many military bases and outposts, and flourishing, walled cities with new technologies. We need: If you are interested in learning more about the project, and would like to see if you can contribute, feel free to send me a private message. Thanks again for your time. Writer here--we've edited it a bit, so take a look at the game overview for what we're working with. |

Aww...I doubt there's much of a chance for wanting a writer to help with creating some depth to the characters that can also voice act. |

Well at this point I think we have all the creative thinkers we need. But keep tabs on the project, as I'm sure we'll need more of such when the project gets more mature. -- Controlling complexity is the essence of computer programming. --Brian Kernigan |

Its not so much ideas, its more or less making sure the ideas aren't held back by 'simple writing techniques'. Building on an idea is simple; to make the idea more interesting brings the story to a whole other level, this tends to be ignored a lot in games in my opinion. |

Hola - Your game sounds very interesting and I have a lot of UDK experience. I do sound design/composition work - by chance would you need help in those areas even though you didn't mention it in your post? I'll be at GDC all this next week - if by chance you have a need I can fill, aaron@aaroncraft.net is the best place to get a hold of me while I'm out of town. Thanks for your time! @Lucifer: I agree with you, and if I'm not happy with the way things turn out I'll certainly recruit more help to get them where I want them to be. @Corthin: I actually already have a composer and a band lined up. I'll let you know if that changes though Edited by: lancer611 -- Controlling complexity is the essence of computer programming. --Brian Kernigan |

I posted it on one of my blogs: Indiedb.com Right now the server isnt up, but I'll have the domain setup by this weekend. Then you can just follow the directions in the blog to try it out. -- Controlling complexity is the essence of computer programming. --Brian Kernigan |

btw what kind of animation or rig do you need? |

We need both character and general animation and rigging, preferably from the same person -- Controlling complexity is the essence of computer programming. --Brian Kernigan |

I mean do you need only general animation like a run cycle, walk, aim... etc... |

Ah, sry. All characters will be human and realistic as reasonably possible. We need that general stuff, yes, but I would also like animations for taunting and celebrating that the players can initiate whenever they please. This would include rude gestures, dancing, high fives, etc. -- Controlling complexity is the essence of computer programming. --Brian Kernigan |
