Hi everyone!

I'm a recent MA graduate and I've been searching for work since finishing my course, I've found a few leads and I'm currently waiting on the go ahead for one of them as with Covid, things are progressing a lot slower than they would have hoped. Though progress is still progress!

How do you all find your next leads or secure potential jobs? I've been searching everywhere online but nearly all job postings at the moment are for sound designers and programmers, and I don't think I've ever seen a post for a potential composer position. Do you all just post in every forum possible and try to stay active in the boards you frequent? I've heard a lot about going towards the composers assistant but as said before, there's very rarely posts about this nor do many composers respond to these kinds of enquiries.

I'm currently going through all the "marketing" areas of setting up as a freelancer (creating a website, getting a portfolio together, creating lead magnets etc.) but at the risk of them just sitting there when completed, how do you all promote yourselves without it being "too much"?

Thanks for taking the time to read/respond and I hope you all have a great day.

Re: second paragraph in the oiriginal post. I also have this question. Would someone be willing to share their experience?

Thanks!
