EAW FOC galaxy map help | Locked | |

I create my own galaxy map, working as background. It is a deco map for my mod with named galaxy sectors(not accurate to canon(old canon) galaxy map). Its work fine, but after land or space battle, map always rotates clockwise on 90 degrees only once. Also it resets scale of galaxy model if those size rescaled through xml code. It is a very strange bug, and I went through all the options to fix this issue: Edited by: Grondyne |

-is width and height of that map in proportion with original EAW FOC map(if width larger, and vice versa). |

Bazlik_Commander, what does it mean, "in proportion" ? I must rescale galaxy map model? What i must to do сoncretely? |

To be sure that map is the main problem, do little test here, return the original map and start the game. If map is rotated again then you are affected something with code and needs to reinstall whole game+FOC add-on. But if map is not rotated, then if with of original map is larger then height, your map need to be too, and vice versa. All of this is an little speculation. Also not bad to try that re-scaling, you suggested. |

Bazlik_Commander, it works! I import model from AoTR(i missed this model first because it have another name), unwrap and retextured it. It's sized as 518x419, just looks as you say and it is not rotates now! But i'm puzzled, why equal side sizes of the plane causes this bug. Please, rate my texture map by commenting and left you suggestions. It is unfinished, so it have some defects. Besides, sectors not equal to canon, because i can't add ALL Star Wars planets, because it cause lags, and besides, i haven't terrain image sources for many planets maps. A model, used in this map now is for test/education purpose only. Final version will be fully credited(with permission, of course) or created from scratch. Im not stealing this model. Who knows, maybe instead of using global variables, programmer uses dimension of map as reference. As for that lag, maybe many of star-lines in combination with fleets sizes affect CPU. AI always attacks weaker planet, I think totally unoptimized global map is the main problem, many calculations per step. Hey don`t forget to play StarGate mod, and add more asteroid fields to your map if possible, pirates love them. |
