download speeds are absurdly slow Thread

for some reason when i try to download any mod in this case blade of darkness reforged it will take over 2 hours to download 1.8GB of the first part, i have 300MB fiber and it should download fast but its only downloading at 300kb/s any suggestion? i dont have any vpn

Same here. 600 MB fiber, located in poland and i get 300kb/s, 3.4 GB worth of data in 4 hours. That's waste of power.

Glad to see im not the only one. I might live in South Africa but I do have a 500MB fiber link that downloads any game at full speed . Its just this website. I dont have this problem on other modding sites

same,site used previously some eu servers,but now its only usa ones,so better of downloading in other places

This site has always had extremely slow download speeds. It really blows my mind how terrible it is and I am in the US.

2023 here, I'm 100% not going to wait 12-14 hours to download Part 1 out of 4 from a mod... 100kb? Are you freaking kidding me :/

The page used to let me download files in minutes and now it's hours, why? Not even the cover and profile photos load me

Holy Shit Gema2k, nothing is even loading fully now. Avatars (other than my own), images and some stuff... What the hell is happening to Moddb? 200kbp/s download speeds, stuff not loading, permanent page loading icon on the browser...

I can't even download mod for 800mb because servers crashing faster than my download speed... Spent entire day on trying

Can you let me know which mirror you used? We have just increased our capacity by 250% this week so there shouldn't be anything holding you back.

Site now loads in, but the download speed has increased from 200kb/s to 250kb/s (Still impossible to download any major mods without it taking hours if not days)

Are you able to advise what your ISP is, and what mirror you are using? I am happy to dig deeper to help improve your speeds.

I live in Brazil, my ISP is called NET, it belongs to a company called Claro. I use no VPN or anything at all.
Speeds are normal in I believe all other websites, Steam as a example consumes my entire internet when a big game is downloading, moddb used to use a big chunk of my internet as well so downloads were quick but now they are painfully slow.

I tried with all the mirrors that were given to me, including the ones from Frankfurt and they all have the same slow speed of 200kb/s up to 270kb/s.

What is your current plan or what speeds do you see from Steam?

Our current plan if I'm not mistaken is |500mbps Download| and |60mbps Upload|
Can't really check on Steam right now as I got no big game to download or updates.

Currently downloading a 170mb file at 280kb/, around 10 minutes for it. I pray that it goes back to max my internet could handle, it's taking the time it would take to download a 1gb file. Really want to download Demosfen, The Old Realms and other mods but they are all huge or multi-file huge.

Fixed the issue, not exactly sure what Window Auto-Tuning is but apparently that was the issue, very random, never had that before...
It was fixed with this command "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal" (Without the quotation marks)

im still getting around 200 kbps but if i pause for like 10 seconds then resume the downloading speed will be at likee 7 mbps then quickly go back down to 200 kbps, im only downloading a 850 mb file and it would take me like 1 hour before i got the file

I've looked at your location and estimate that you are suffering from the "high bandwidth, high latency" situation that Gleb_AA-Gun above mentioned.

We do not have any Asia Pacific mirrors at this time which would be substantially faster for you, however I have started the ball rolling on looking into this.

For the mean time, I suspect windows TCP auto tuning would also help you drastically - for reference on a stock Windows 11 install I am able to get 6MB/s from the ModDB mirrors with similar latency to you.

Hi, Im getting tops 1mb/s on a 200mbps connection, idk what it might be. I can download many files at one but none of the speeds surpass 1mb/s. Thanks for your effort

i tried every mirror, i can BARELY get to 280KB/s, only on this website, anywhere else i can get atleast 2mb/s and on steam upwards of 20mb/s epic 40mb/s
