|Any indie game companies in NYC open to allowing me volunteer/shadow?||Post Reply|

Hi all, I'm a NYC resident currently going through a career change. I've always wanted to be involved in video games since I was a kid and for a while, I've been working on creating my own video game music portfolio. It's been a long time coming but I've been working hard at it.
At the age that I'm at, it's been really hard to break into the industry, especially when big gaming companies don't respond back to inquiries or have shadowing/volunteering opportunities available.
I would absolutely relish the opportunity to learn more about the industry through so if there are any studios out there in NYC willing to show me the ropes, it would be a dream if you'd take me on!

Dude forget all that. Start small and grow your experience and knowledge. Buy GameMaker program or something similar and do your own thing. OR if you are good at art then make a comic. I'll even write the dialogue/story for you if you got the art skills.
