For the 8th year running, the Strasbourg European Fantastic Film Festival holds the Indie Game Contest !
The Indie Game Contest is an international competition of indie games. Each year, a dozen of games are selected and shown to an audience that can freely play the games for the whole duration of the festival (about ten days). A jury of significant personalities (developpers, youtubers, journalists) will award their favorite game with the Octopix (our grand prize).
Last years, we had Superhot, Into the Breach, Scourgebringer and The Textorcist as competitors. This year, the festival will take place from September the 11th to the 20th.
Participating to this selection allows you to:
- Have your game played and rated by highly influential professionals from the industry
- Get an opportunity to test the waters for your game’s development on the French market
- Your game has a chance to be rewarded with the Octopix, the award from the festival ! There is also the Audience Award voted by the festival-goers !
New this year: Previously the contest was reserved for non-distributed video games only, but this year games released in 2020 will be eligible to compete. This new rule also applies to games still in their development stage, regardless of whether a released date has been announced.
