A new video showing off the ball physics and collisions, the planetary terrain (it's using one big tiling texture and it has some vertex popping ), and finally the motion blur. This is a tech-demonstration and work-in-progress. Divx 5, 22 MB

Terrain, physics, rings and motion blur.

the zoom out of the planet nearly gave me a heart attack, then the close-up of the ring just made my day. If you could make a similar video, but pull out to the star system in the end, you would win the internet.

Do you remember that "powers of ten" video that they usually show in high school science? They start at earth and show a meter, then add a zero to it each time, 1 meter, 10 meters, 100 meters....1,000,000,000 meters...ect, expanding the field of view of the universe? Is this engine capable of that, if only for a certain distance?

Agreed, it reminded me of Spore, yet 10,000 times better.

Oh my god. I've been very intrigued by this game for a while based on art design, concept, and expanding technology.. but seeing this video moves it to a different place.
I'm more excited about this game than any other. Way more!

I wish you guys the best of luck. This is impressive.

I love the rings and just the scale of everything.

That was simply amazing. I must admit, I saw some objects popping into different detail levels, but still...

I think this is the most beautiful real time rendering I have witnessed

Geo-morphing isn't implemented yet, thats why you see the 'object popping'.

Holy hell. I was digging the physics and motion blur demo--looks great so far--and just kind of nodding my head in appreciation... then the zoom out at the end, and I thought "wow, that looks really great." As the camera started toward the rings my face went slack and I said aloud "oh, no... no way... it would be so awesome if-"

And sure enough, my heart skipped a beat. Absolutely wonderful. Like christensenct said: you just made my day.

my god, I almost wet myself. This honestly looks like one of those games you gotta dish out 20 bucks a month, and then it gets ruined by the developers so you gotta cancel it feeling like it was a waste of time even though it was fun at first(but I doubt this will be one of those).

I love the rings around the planet, first time someone has made that aspect of some planets realistic from all I've seen.
