This is an Alpha Test of Prisoner. This is designed for bug finding, and seeing how well the game runs on a wide range of systems. Your feedback is encouraged!
I downloaded and played it and it was really great! :) I didn't have any bug problems during my playthrough and the framerate remained stable despite my computer not being the greatest. I really like the art style and I'm a big fan of Wolfenstein 3D so the gameplay was just great. I really look forward to the final release so I can purchase it and have me some good ol' retro style fps action :)
Thank you so much for your very encouraging feedback. Great to hear that the game plays well for you, and even better to know that you enjoyed it.
Games are all about entertainment, and it's messages like this that make all the effort worth while. You've made my day, thanks!
I get the error 'Runtime Error 506 - Could not load image at line 124.' so unfortunately I can't play the game :(
Am I missing something?
Thanks for info. Turns out line 124 in the code is trying to load a texture that I took out for the alpha. Odd that I didn't get that error when testing it.
I have uploaded a fixed .exe to my server (stored in a .rar file). Copy it in to the main folder, and it should run for you.
Apologies for the let down. Thanks again for the info.
Thanks man, works fine now. Sweet game, it's been to long since I haven't had the privilege of looking up and down. Can't wait to see the finished thing :)
Thank you for the helpful feedback, and the kind words. I very much appreciate the support I'm getting on this project. Glad you enjoyed it!
Funny to see games like these are still being developed :)
I think that as long as a game is fun, there is reason for it!
I downloaded it and it worked very well! It should be more fun if you can see up and down. But for an Alpha version it is very good! :)
Thank you for playing! I really appreciate the feedback.
I found this game to be really neat! I enjoy playing/making old-school type games myself so it was quite fun :). It is a little hard to aim, but it is easy to get used to. Ran at really stable fps too!
Thank you for the feedback! I've altered the mouse look since releasing the alpha, and hope to include sensitivity settings in the final game. Good luck with your games!
hey man I played it through to end, it's nice, the guys are very good at shooting and dont do much. Im guessing in the future you can get them to walk around a bit, maybe not be such a perfect shot (and have different types). However it did bring interesting game mechanics, I found myself leaving health until I got to 50, then running back many rooms to get an old health.. frame rate rock solid, no bugs or errors.. would be good eventually to see some cells with other prisoners in, perhaps they can beg you to help them get out.. if youre escaping maybe there can be sirens going off, perhaps you can shut them down temporarily. So long as your players like retro I think it should be ok with more features :) good work!
Thank you very much for the feedback. Glad to hear that the game ran well for you.
I do like the idea of coming across other prisoners, and may well add some to the game by the time the next demo is released. I also have some enemy variations in the game, although I probably wont be extending their routines too much in this release due to time constraints (I currently only get around an hour or two a week to work on the game, but if it's successful in any way I should then be able to make a bigger game next).
Thanks again for the feedback!
I really enjoyed it! I had a few errors setting the resolution but otherwise it ran great and I didn't find any other errors or bugs. Keep up the great work!
What kind of errors did you get? I really appreciate your feedback and kind words. Very happy to hear that you enjoyed the game. Thank you!
Cool game. It took me a try or so before getting used to it, but it was definitely worth my time. The controls were smooth, although not being able to completely look around me did cause some frustration. Even so, this flaw did not prevent me from completing the game. The graphics were nice, and added a nostalgic atmosphere. Although, I don't recall any music, but that would've been a great addition to the game. I understand that it's not complete yet, so I can let that pass... Overall, awesome game man. Definitely would be worth a couple of dollars. 4/5
That's awesome! Thank you so much for the mini review. I really appreciate the kind words, and I'm happy to know that you enjoyed playing the game.
Thanks again for the feedback. Very encouraging!
