Probably it's because the name of the mod folder doesn't match the path value in the .mod file. If you just extracted the archive as it is the folder will be named "Lux_Invicta" and it should be "Lux Invicta"(with a space) just rename the folder.
After playing for about 15 years the game reaches a point of regular crashes and instability. In the events at the start of the game there is reference to checking the FAQ for extra installation instructions to reduce crashing. I cant find those instructions. What can you do to fix the crashing issue?
Try reinstalling/downloading the mod, you might have a corrupted version. Or, make sure to not be using many other mods and no other total overhaul mods. Lastly, make sure your .mod file is correct like mentioned in the above comments.

It literally says 3.2x in the description. So the latest version will be fine.

I'm getting crashes every few months with this patch. The only other mods I'm using are Nicknames +++ and Improved Genetics 2.0
While continued work on the mod should alleviate these problems, all I can say is maybe try the mod without the other mods.
When I launch the game with the mod the game is just Vanilla. The mod chose up with the name LuxInvicta v0.6K10.
