Description

This is a public version of the game. It contains an outdated single player, but it is fully functional. It is missing only a few features existing only on silver and gold versions, like the puzzle creator and the multiplayer, plus a few updates like larger word database and a few more player profile pictures. This new version contains 52 more words, 25 for English and 27 for Greek, increasing the total number of words to 7100.

The game is implemented to run without DirectX need. It has a custom engine to run these. The most possible reason of your issue, it's probably related with the .Net Framework. It also uses the windows media player as source of the multimedia, but this, normally, can't cause other issue than lack of animation and music. Sorry for the late answer.

It's quite possibly WMP, a couple of other games using these libraries fail on Windows emulation, 'Distant Worlds', recently 'RUSE' & 'Wargame - European Escalation' have become available with a 'Jury Rigged' approach to installing libraries, they only have cutscenes and some parallex background on the menu, I guess it must be some memory management issue.

Thanks for the reply, if as the game evolves you facing updating the framework, or as WINE evolves, I will take another look.

Yes. It may be WMP. I don't exclude anything. Thanks for this information. Even it isn't working in Linux and normally it could just bypass it, it may inflict malfunctions and cause this issue on you and I guess to more users in Linux.

I apologize for this because when I implemented it, I had the need to release a game, even for windows only. Though, I'm happy about your interest on my game, even in this unfortunate state of not working for you.

Soon, I'm planning to release a very simple game, without much of special mechanisms. It has also the WMP usage. With this, we will validate if it's WMP issue or of something else.

Maybe in future, I will revamp it for cross-platform support. I can't promise it, because it depends how much good the .Net Core 3 will be and my available time for this. It will be released roughly in three months, so cross your fingers with me to be that we expect.

Thanks for your interest and time. I promise that I will try to make my games work for Linux too. I only need a proper tool to do it and the .Net Core 3 gives me some hope on this plan.
