Seven months after the destruction of the Lucifer, the player finds itself as a patrol officer on the GTI Flagstaff, as the GTA does not require any more military pilots due to the peace period and the stable Terran-Vasudan Alliance. So it is the primary task of the player to perform traffic checks and also to enforce the speed limit near the outpost. As during a normal patrol all colleagues' fighter self-destruct and a cruiser is hijacked and kidnapped right in front of the outpost and even the surviving player is attacked by GTA ships with enemy IFF it is clear, that this is the beginning of major events that not only cause that the player got attention by the military, but also it come on a track of a conspiracy that apparently seems to have its connection with the colonisation plans of the planet called Mandala Prime.
Three years have passed since the destruction of the Lucifer. However the war against the Hammer of Light and the Shivans is far from over, though the alliance between GTA and PVN is able to keep both threats under control. With the completion of a shipyard in the orbit of Vasuda V, new warships can be built finally, which should make it possible to finally defeat both the Hammer of Light aswell the Shivans. As a veteran of the Great War, the player is squadron leader on the GTI Galatea in the Vasuda system. This Arcadia installation not only serves as a guard post for the new shipyard, but was also named after the GTD Galatea, which sacrificed itself in 2335 for the defense of Vasuda Prime. After the GTD Bastion was able to destroy the HLD Prophecy, one of the Hammer of Light flagships, the silence in the Vasuda system is over, as the surviving forces decide to retreat via the Vasuda system. After two destroyers of the GTD Orion class, which vanished ten years ago, emerge from subspace during a mission, the chaos seems to be perfect.
