The Python wrapper for Tilengine is finished and ready for download. It's included in the download bundle, and contains the wrapper itself, some sample scripts and a pdf file with a brief description and examples about its usage. You can get it here
Please be aware that it's just a wrapper for the original native library, not a full reimplementation
