Description
We're a small cohort of game developers reimagining classic video game experiences. Our first creation is Hellenica, a steam-powered tactics RPG that takes place in ancient Greece!
History
Early history
Kurt and Victor have wanted to work on games since they were first programming together as freshmen in high school. Over the next eight years, they honed their skills through various programming competitions and game projects, became roommates, and eventually both graduated with CS degrees from Stanford.
Pre-Dragonloft
They’d talked about doing a game startup a lot in college, but after graduation, prudence overcame ambition and they decided to get some experience (and savings) first. Victor went to Volition Inc. where he had the opportunity to work as a physics programmer on the Saints Row series. This gave him a chance to channel all his beloved mathematical arcana to make cars do sweet drifts around corners or crumple under the weight of a tank. Kurt went to Microsoft and worked as a cross between a programming SWAT team member and Winston Wolfe from Pulp Fiction. When a game project at MS got derailed, he was the cavalry sent in to fix it. He later decided he’d rather work on a smaller team, and became gameplay lead for the iPad MOBA game, Solstice Arena.
Where we are now
After ~4 years in the industry, they had leveled up some and decided it was finally time to chase the dream they’d talked about for over a decade. Their first project would come to be Hellenica.
