The Project:
It's a turn-based strategy game (similar to X-COM). In which you control a group of survivors and guide them to survival and victory.
In Battle-Mode you play a team of up to 5 members and fight against Kirari, Mants, Traitors, Bandits and Survivors. The mode focuses on tactics and strategy and random will only play a small role.
In Management-Mode you have an overview of the world map. Here you can build, expand and control your base. Set tasks for all group members such as exploring, scavenging, guarding, researching, building, crafting and relaxing. Focus of this mode is to use every day to help your group survive and preparing for the next battle.
The Story:
A few years ago the first spaceships of the Kirari arrived and threw the earth into chaos. A year later the Mants came to battleground earth. They focused their attacks against the Kirari but killed any human that crossed their way. At this point only about 10% of the human race was left. But we kept fighting and organized into militia groups. We did a lot of damage to the aliens but also had many losses to suffer in the last years. A few month ago we heard from groups of survivors that joined the aliens and fought along their side. We are not even save of our own kind.
Technical:
I started the project in Java with OpenGL and want to build a complete engine from scratch.
Currently the base of the Battle-Mode is implemented with a map editor, simple skills and support for static textured objects via .obj files.
Team:
I'm 20 years old and live in Germany. I'm studying informatics and program in Java since 7 years, part of that as work. In the past I worked on many smaller projects each with new challenges.
And since the beginning of this year I work on this one.
Since march one hobby 3D designer also from Germany works also on the Project.
We love to work in a team and so I'm searching for members that are motivated and skilled.
