my guess would be that the stone you set out (after you have mined it) looks the same as the stone you find (the stone you haven't mined). So if you build a giant cave or something and only want pure stone walls there won't be any difference between the stones you have put out and the ones that were there originally.

HD Textures aren't always nice. Sometimes they may look bad, like Fortresscraft Fortresscraft.com. That's why i preffer 16x16

Its alright, I made my first one too, but its just mine because it uses a bunch of random pieces I liked. Only original quality too so it don't look like gold but I love it :)
Good texture for those who might need it.
