this is a rough draft of a map i'm making based on the real Verdun location. It is in very early stages and needs a lot of work.
What is this? (Map-maker only)
It's a recreation of a rough area of the Meuse river i'm making for Multiplayer, it's one of my first serious maps i'm sitting down and making so it needs a lot of love. Figured i'd upload it for fun and work on it some more as time allows. I've always found a fascination with the battle itself and wanted something that reflected the region to a degree.....sure one could make just a flat map with a lot of trenches and craters and call it Verdun but i wanted something a bit more towards the real life look of it. I'm not the best at map making and haven't really done it a lot before, but i'm learning more and more every day and i love making maps based on real places.
One cannot appreciate the view from so high up in the preview image, because of draw distance....i really want to learn how to script to make it more complete but that time will come later. At least for now i can upload it and see what people think.....(sorry for the assets left on the map so far, they will be removed)
