Um, 3D? You mean 3rd person like Gothic or Fable for instance? Because that's the one I would vote for. =) 3rd person is by far the best opt for an RPG imo, as it provides you with actual view of yourself while acting. First Person is OK, but I still prefer 3rd person.
Not to mention that Elderscrolls is both 3rd and 1st person. :)
I like the old RPG's like pokemón & Final Fantasy
i would have to choose 2.5 because all the Diablo games are so well done, not to mention torchlight and Diablo 3, when it comes :P but i do still like 3rd as well

If it's hack and slash action-RPG that used both keyboard and mouse (or joystick) with jump and stuff then 3rd for sure. (Kingdom Heart, anyone?)
