Finally a new update ! Despite the fact that the lack of updates might seem like we got nothing to show, things are actually running fine.
However I have to admit, and excuse myself, for simply being too lazy to prepare some updates. Well after all I am human.
Lets stop the excuses and proceed with the media and a small summary of external media and coverage from the last weeks.
Should you however feel the desire to further read into what was up behind the scenes: check out my plan.
Lets start with some brand new media. First of all the sawn-off shotgun skinned by Pete. The mesh got tweaked a little, so yes this model is not identical to the unskinned one.
Fire can be deadly as hell thus let me introduce our molotov cocktail (and lighter) model, modeled by TheFrog4u.
Furthermore check out our new work-in-progress reflective water (thanks to Typhontaur at this point). The map you see is StormShadows city of death (name not final).
Please note that both the map and the water is still work in progress.
Apart from that MenZa from the moddb staff interviewed me and azelito, theres even some small exclusive media at the end of the interview so click on the nice interview button below.
Last but not least a small teaser (click on it - its animated :) ) of what to expect during the next updates has been released at our qexpo booth which also features our booth babe angelina ;)
Finally let me clarify the engine question (despite the fact that its already explained at the Info-Engine part on our website).
Alot of people seem to mistake our game for a halflife2 mod or quake3 engine project.
The base for our engine is Vics excellent qfusion engine which in turn is based on quake2. This is a standalone game which means that unlike with mods, you won't need any other game to play it (and yes its still going to be free).
But fear not ! I made this awesome picture for those having a hard time memorizing it.
great news, thank you :-)
YAY!!
I love standalone. :)
this game looks awsome, can't wait for it
Why don't you develop it on the Quake 3 Engine, who's code is now on GPL licence ?
what he said /\
Thats like coding half of a game, then throwing it all out and starting all over again.. Think people THINK.
The engine that we are currently using, a modified QFusion by vic (modified Q2), is better than the Q3 engine.
What he said ^
that looks amazing for somethin based off the Quake II engine!!!
He said he's using the QFusion engine, not straight Quake 2. the engine they are basing it off is very heavily modded, and the team here have modded that even further.
By the way, I demand more in game shots ;) I've only seen one :D
fear not, i've got alcohol!
Awsome update. Though the bats flight looks a bit robotic...
You are correct. That gif was done during the making of the animations, the anim on it is not even final. The flap is faster ingame and it looks a lot better there.
