Mushroom Kingdom Fusion is a fan game with modified Mario gameplay, crossed over with many different video game universes and elements.

Post news Report RSS Arthur confirmed as a playable character!

One of the most awaited characters finally comes to life in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, courtesy of Obreck2. It's Arthur, the knight from Capcom's Ghosts 'n Goblins series.

In a nutshell, Arthur's prowess lies in his weapons. He has his standard GnG arsenal and even Robot Master weapons. He can shoot vertically up and down, can do a double jump, and can use guns like every other character. He can swim too.

His disadvantages:
*Slow speed. He is the slowest character in the game.
*He cannot stomp. Arthur will take damage if he tries to stomp. Arthur needs Stomp Boots in order to stomp enemies.
*Arthur will lose all stackable powerups with his armor if he takes a hit.
*Arthur has horrendous knockback, even worse than Sonic and Tails.

As of this writing, Arthur has nine weapons fully implemented (five GnG and four Robot Master). They are:

Lance: The weapon Arthur starts with at the beginning of the game. It travels in a straight line at about medium speed and does about medium damage. Effective enough but a bit bland the Lance will have one nifty new feature: it will be one of the full Arthur weapons that knock shelled enemies into their shells instead of killing them, allowing you to pick up and use the shell of course. Shooting it again will kill the shell though so don't get too trigger happy.

Dagger: A favorite of the GnG series, the dagger is like a faster, weaker, lance you can throw more at once. Probably won't feel as OP as it did in the GnG series since it won't harm most think skinned enemies like buzzies. Does not copy the lance's shelling ability.

Torch (Aka red torch):
An explosive type weapon. Based off the Ghosts-n-Goblins version of the torch this weapon has a surprising amount of range for a weapon of its kind. It travels in an arc nearly an entire screen's length before hitting the ground. On contact with anything it produces a modest fire explosion, though not as powerful as its more awkward to use cousins, such as the Fairy Fire. (for the record Arthur is not harmed by most of his exploding weapons)

Hand Axe:
Travels in a slow spinning motion. Not as straight forwards as more conventional weapons, but packs a respectable little wallop and harms most enemies. You can throw 2 at once. Based off the weaker SNES Axe.

Battle Axe: A hybrid of the Goblins and Genesis axe. A big axe you throw in an arcing motion. You can only one at once but it hits hard and even better isn't destroyed by enemy contact, chopping right through rows of enemies without even slowing down.

Shadow Blade:
Shadow Man's weapon from Mega Man 3. A big short ranged ninja star that returns to its user. Its very fast and chops though many enemies without stopping, but its biggest gimmick is it can be aimed diagonally, giving eight directions of firing power.

Bubble Lead:
Bubble Man's weapon from Mega Man 2. Rides along the floor, sticking to it perfectly and riding directly down cliff walls. Great for if an enemy is below use, not so great if they're above you, throw Bubble Lead upward and it just plummets back to the ground.

Hyper Bomb: Bomb Man's weapon from the first Mega Man. Probably Arthur's most awkward to use weapon by a long shot. You toss a bomb a short distance, it hits the ground, and after a delay explodes. No luxuries like "contact explosion" you just got to hope the enemies is standing by it will it explodes. If they are how over they're going to take some serious damage. Unless an enemy is totally invincible you can be assured the Bombman Bombs will harm them.

Hard Knuckle: Hard Man's weapon from Mega Man 3. A big sluggish flying fist. Great for those times when a big flying fist is the only thing that gets the point across, and it can be aimed remotely by holding up or down.
