Being an indie team is a bit like riding a rollercoaster; it's a bit scary at first because you don't really know what to expect, but the longer you're part of this experience the more fun it gets and with a bit of luck you get to share it with your friends while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Looking back to when we first started out reminds us of what a couple of guys with a dream can achieve through hard work and how far we've come as a team and as a community. It also reminds us of the sacrifices that need to be made in order to be able to pursue this passion.
Preparing for growth
A lot has changed lately and a lot will change in the future, but this is a natural process and it's for the best. Whether it's writing code, making levels, thinking up systems, ... there's still a lot of work to be done and with the upcoming update we're more devoted than ever.
Recently our team left our tiny office/living room/kitchen/bedroom and moved to a new location (pictures will follow shortly) which opens up a new chapter in our lives. This place allows us to work undisturbed and has enough place for us to grow as a company while working on some great new content.
There's also a lot of progress being made on the reworked/improved version of Homebrew and we're pleased to announce that Bob, mostly reffered to as sHaKeNbAkE, will be joining us as our PR and communications manager to share this awesome content with you.
Being gamers ourselves, we believe that it is crucial for developers to stay in touch with their players in order to make a better game and we think that we'll be able to get you guys even more involved in development by having Shake as a key addition to the team.
Shake has been a devoted supporter of our team and Homebrew from very early development and he's a life-long games enthusiast with 25+ years of experience. This experience combined with a strong passion for public speaking, a great voice, social media skills, a professional approach and a necessary dose of enthusiasm have turned him into a superb communicator with a deep understanding of indie games.
As PR and communications manager, Shake will work closely with our team to ensure that we can develop a better and more consistent approach when it comes to communication. In doing this he'll also continue to get the word out by showing the potential of the game on Steam, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and other social media.
There's no doubt that this is an exciting time for Copybugpaste and Homebrew and that we'll be able to build an even more thriving community by combining our efforts!
First off I would like to thank Copybugpaste for welcoming me in and for giving me this opportunity. While my 25 plus years of gaming has mostly been "in the closet," it wasn't until recently that I have had the opportunity to go public with not only my passion for gaming but social media work as well. I have always been fascinated by games dating back to my first days of using DOS, Advanced Basic, and all on my ancient but beloved Atari 800.
Even at my age and many years of gaming I still come across games that get me very excited. Some are well known and some are hidden gems that you stumble across. Homebrew Vehicle Sandbox has been and is one of those gems. It is a digital playground where you truly can be a kid again limited only by your skills and imagination. Their moto is spot on..."Dream, Build, and Enjoy."
I am very excited to take on the new role as Public Relations Manager for Copybugpaste and have hit the ground running. We have a lot of exciting things coming your way (i.e. Livestream events, more competitions, Dev Q&A's, etc.) so please stay up to date by joining us on Steam and our various social media channels.
I look forward to interacting with the community, seeing the awesome vehicles you build, and promoting this fantastic game.
Bob aka "sHaKeNbAkE"
