There are two different styles i am considering for TPS character control. First one is the standard FPS control type known as the DOOM style. The other control type is “The legend of Zelda” style.
L-stick: used for character movement. R-stick: character rotation.
You need to use both the L/R stick at the same time to control your character properly and reach your destination. It's a pretty standard control type in my opinion. But some players feel that kind of control type is difficult and can't aim properly.Sometimes players also feel motion sickness because of too much 3D movement while trying to aim at thier targets.
3D Zelda style
L-stick for moving and rotating character. R-stick used for rotating the camera around the character. This style is simple because players can control their character with only one hand.
But, players may miss the target because their attack won't be accurate. This kind of style of games often have something like aim assist to make it more user friendly. (e.g. target locking system in Zelda, Auto aim function in Phantasy Star Online)
“GOCCO OF WAR” was developed with 3D Zelda style and Auto aim. But we can change it to something better based on user's comments. So, We would like to hear your thoughts on this.
