CAPI 3D was announced earlier this month, with small amounts of information about the engine. A lot is going on behind the scenes which hasn't been announced yet, including some very interesting features, unique to it. But before we finalise those systems, we must test what we have so far to fix any issues that might be hidden away, and who better to test it than at Staffordshire University Game Developer Students.
Staffordshire University is the UK's number one university for Software and Game Development, with direct links to lots of AAA game companies including a partnership with Epic Games (Unreal Engine 4) making it the perfect place to start testing for CAPI 3D. The engine will be handed out to a group of students studying Game Development for them to play around and see what they can build, while helping us find any issues with the engine so far. The students normally use Unreal Engine 4 or Unity depending on their personal preference, so it will be good to see how they react to a completely new engine and whether or not they end up preferring it to the engine they currently use.
We are excited to hear and see the results!
