Hello and a happy, success- and joyful last day of the year 2009.
Let's start this news post in alphabetical order:
1. Concepts: Dr. Faustus and a streamlined car.
2. Downloads: six .jpg files to use as background images on cell phones.
3. HP-update: www.zeitgeist-thegame.com / .de has been updated by Nauz with new content.
4. Media updates: Paddington Station has received some polishing.
1. Meet Dr. Faustus.
Early WIP concepts of a tool with a very specific range of purposes.
Derived from tools used by surgeons, lead elements moving in a fluid
are the technical basis of this hand-mounted slide hammer. The
knuckle-duster plating on the fist underlines the one-hit-deadliness of
this weapon: an original development of the trench and silent commando
combat in the late 1920s...
Furthermore, we've got another concept of a vehicle here that will soon help us to populate the streets of London: a 1926 Streamline Taxi. The economical crysis that followed The Great War lead to many, many developments in vehicle construction.
Fuel and gasoline shortenings increased after two key events in 1922; the German Empire entirely used up the oil reserves of Romania, which left the Entente in 1919, and was consequently occupied; the Entente, on the other hand, lost it's overseas supplies due to the German U-boat offensive later in the same year.
The Streamline Taxi, originally developed by a Viennese constructor, reaches a top speed of 70 mph with a mere 35 HP due to it's aerodynamic shape.
Credit for all of the sketching goes to Adrian, as usual.
2. Download section updated with mobile phone background images. Tried and tested by Nauz, Jonko and myself, we've kept all of the six images (featuring four Zeitgeist scenarios plus the logo) in 1024x1280 .jpg formats, so they should easily fit on most modern cell phone displays.
Here's what they look like:
Just check out the Download section for those new logos - enjoy. : ).
3. Homepage-update.
Nauz finally found the time to give our homepage a small revision, adding the new data we've been presenting to you in our x-mas update. Feel free to take a look at www.zeitgeist-thegame.com / .de - we're also friendly hosts of the Zeitgeist forums, although there's not much action yet (and maybe not going to be for a while), we're always glad about new friends joining the community.
4. Media-update.
Paddington Station has seen some work, most notably on the model shading, displacement work around the gravel, shadow fixing on many models and adding more details like warning signs, bushes and ivy, clocks and lamps.
Alright, that'd be it for this time - we hope to see each and every one of you again, healthy and happy, in 2010.
Watch out for them rockets & fireworks and take care of yourselves - there's no need to copy Santa and his reckless sleigh riding, is there?
Best wishes for 2010,
the Zeitgeist Dev Team.
F A N T A S T I C . This is just kind of art.
Great job guys!
Cool! Love the maps!
Amazing!
My only reaction is astonishment. This mod so far is an absolute work of art, keep up the work!
A nice little update. Paddington Station is looking gorgeous... can't wait to see it in-game down the road :)
