The summer months were a great time of progress for the mod and as a Freelancer as a whole. What I mean by this is that W0dk4 added some functionality that has never before been seen in this game, and many people, including me, didn't even know was possible.
The first, was bringing the graphic engine of Freelaner up to date with the DX9 conversion project. W0dk4 first showed the power of this in his simple bloom and colour correction video which took the FL community by storm:>
At the moment, W0dk4 is working on getting the kinks out of specular mapping and normal mapping for the mod. This will allow us to create extremely high detailed models without increasing the poly count or computer requirements. He has shown us his prototype work and we will be releasing more information on this very, very soon!
Another amazing feature that W0dk4 added was a zoom function. This is a marvelous addition to Freelancer, particularly for capital ships.
The last huge feature W0dk4 added to Freelancer was his new tactical mode. Essentially, this mode will allow players to quickly survey the battlefield in an instant. It allows for more strategic and tactical battles. Below is the video blog describing the feature:
It's amazing what W0dk4 has done for this mod and for Freelancer. I say that because as soon as we release this mod, W0dk4 will work on a way to adapt these incredible features so the entire Freelancer Community can profit for his efforts. I look forward to seeing what will happen to the modding scene with this amazing features released to all mod developers.
The last thing I wanted to talk about in this year in review of FW:ToW development was the marvelous work of FriendlyFire, our resident effect designer. Instead of describing all the epic work he has done, I will let the videos speak for themselves:

And with that I will end this article. As you can see, the team has made some fantastic progress over the year on many fronts with the goal of creating the best Star Wars multiplayer space simulator as possible.
We hope like what you see and give us a vote for the MOTY awards.
As always, any questions, comments or suggestions are welcomed!
