Alien Arena 2009 is due to be released in one week! Six months have passed since the last version of Alien Arena, and the wait will be worth every second. There are an enormous amount of improvements, both visually and aurally, as well as loads of new content and gameplay items.

In the meantime, here is a trailer showcasing Alien Arena 2009!

This week, Ogg-vorbis support was added, which decreased the installation size of the game by 50%. The game is essentially completed, we are packaging everything up, testing, and getting up to the mirrors. Many thanks to everyone with their feedback, and to the rest of the dev team and community for their support, we hope you will find it worth the wait.

Just might have to try this one out again. I played around with one version quite a while ago, but it looks to have come a long way since.

Which enigine does this game use?
Looks nice, and the vehicles seem to rock.

It uses a custom engine that was built from the id tech2 source, though much of it has been rewritten.

Is there ever going to be an SP game again? I really liked those.

There are no plans for one, but we do plan on eventually improving the campaign mode against bots to be a little more elaborate.
