Post news Report RSS ADVENTURE CRAFT! Structures! and running from goblin gangs!

A big leap forward with our structure building tools! We can now place structures in the game world! Watch me use one to take shelter from a goblin gang!

Posted by on

Today was a very cool day, because a lot of the stuff that I designed for building and placing structures into the game world have been implemented and I got to start playing around with them.

The world of Adventure Craft can be quite a dangerous one.

With gangs of goblins and other monsters roaming around around its common to end up in the situation in the above picture. When things get rough you will need a place to hide! A place to defend! A place to call home! SO...

Here it is! The first structure type! The square wooden house! Proud? Proud.

Here's a gif of how you place it into the world. (For testing, it only takes one log to build this first house. That obviously will change in the release version. ;P Also you won't end up with bushes or rocks in your house either when you place it down.)

Once you place the house down you can use it to hide from monsters, furnish it with stuff you crafted or buy from NPC shops, and build additional rooms etc. I'll post more about house customization later.

Here's a gif of me using my house to run from a goblin gang! To the simple mind of a goblin, I vanished! Later I'll add some additional behavior to the creatures that will allow them to try to break down your house windows or doors to get inside and stuff like that so that you have to defend your homestead.

Here's another one for fun. Sorry chickens!

This footage is taken from the player spawn point which is surrounded by goblins camping nearby!
