The Game


Runeblight is a retro FPS, currently in a pre-alpha stage. It features expansive metroidvania level design, multiplayer co-op, a unique upgrade system, and many fast-paced movement abilities. If you'd like to read more about the game, you can do so here.

Currently, most of the basic functionality is currently developed. This would include features like fluid first-person movement, basic combat, weapons, basic multiplayer, and a few game-specific mechanics.




The Position

Right now we're looking to expand our team, and offer revenue share to talented and committed team members. We hope to soon complete a demo for the game, and then begin to seek funding for the full project. Currently we're looking for people in the following positions:

  • 3D Artist
  • 3D Animator/Rigger
  • Texture Artist

We're looking for individuals who could fill one or more of these positions.

3D Artist

We're looking for someone who can design low-poly models that can fit the game's gothic-horror theme and retro visuals. Responsibilities would include:

  • Designing 3D models for characters, monsters, weapons, etc that fit in the game's world.
  • Designing models that work with gameplay in mind.
  • Designing optimized models that can be easily animated.
  • Blender and Unity experience is a plus!
  • Being able to design textures, as well as animations, is a huge plus!

3D Animator

We're looking for someone who can animate and rig models while keeping the game's retro theme in-mind.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Animating and rigging preexisting models.
  • Designing animations that work well with gameplay in mind.
  • Blender and Unity experience is a plus!

Texture Artist

We're looking for someone who can design low-res, retro-style textures that fit the game's gothic-horror aesthetic. Responsibilities would include:

  • Designing low resolution, retro textures.
  • Designing textures for models that can be mapped to the model's UV.
  • Designing textures for environments, such as walls, ceilings, floors, water, lava, etc.

What We're Looking for in an Application

  • Demonstrated experience in their position (a portfolio.)
  • Enough time and commitment to help see the demo to completion.
  • Good communication skills when working remotely. Discord is required, and having a microphone is a plus.
  • Must be able to speak English.
  • Able to work independently and autonomously.
  • Being able to fill multiple positions is a huge plus.
