We're looking for modders who are interested in participating in an open-source community project of extending and improving the closed-source engine of Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge for modding purposes. Our current testing team doesn't keep up with the amount of features that are being developed, and because of that have a lot of features that are waiting to be tested.

Phobos is a community engine extension project providing a set of new features and fixes for Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge based on modified YRpp and Syringe to allow injecting code. It's meant to accompany Ares which is another engine extension project that is currently stale and closed-source.

You can read more about the project in the official project repository and see the currently implemented new features in official docs.

Required:

  • At least basic Red Alert 2 (or Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 1) INI modding skills
    • Additionally RA2 AI scripting and map scripting skills would also be very valueable, as well as content creation capabilities
  • Knowledge of Red Alert 2 engine possibilities
  • Being able to work with GitHub

Would be a plus:

  • Basic understanding of programming processes and tools, like Git / GitHub
  • QA knowledge and experience
  • Debugging / Programming / IT experience
  • Having own mod and a mod page

We offer:

  • Tons of new features for everyone's RA2YR mods to use
  • Purely voluntary participation without enforced time constraints
  • Help on learning the topics related to development if needed
  • Cross-promotion between your mod and Phobos
  • Inclusion in credits for extensive testing

Message us if you're interested in pushing forward YR modding!
