Who we are

We are a tight-knit team, and are developing A Township Tale full time. A Township Tale is the industry leading VR MMO, which has a massive Discord community of 73 thousand people. We’ve launched on Quest on July 15, reaching #1 in Oculus Store charts, and we’re expanding the team to support our players and bring the game to new platforms.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Generalist Game Engineer. You will need to be a fast learner capable of reading and understanding existing features in order to identify pain points in performance. This role will depend heavily on your ability to communicate with the rest of the team in order to leverage their knowledge of the many different systems, features and tools that currently exist on our code base.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll be evaluating the performance of our current systems and defining plans to improve them.
  • You’ll be working together with the quest port team to optimize and implement game features on a standalone VR platform.
  • You’ll be maintaining and improving the codebase for a live multiplayer game with tens of thousands of players.
  • You’ll be working with multiple platforms and architectures, including PC VR, standalone VR and headless servers.

The skills you will need

  • 5+ years of Unity Experience
  • Have shipped at least 1 game
  • Good C# Knowledge
  • Knowledge of shader creation
  • Be comfortable creating custom Unity Editor Tools
  • Solid Maths foundation
