Psychedelic Platformer will Receive a Limited Edition “Cassette” Physical Release.

A new indie platformer is set to launch a limited edition physical run of the game, which looks just like it has come from the back catalogue 80's gaming. However, you wont need to dust off an old Commodore 64 to play it.

The Kickstarter for Spinch’s physical release is currently on track to meet its target following its launch (12th August 2020). Backers will be able to get their hands on their own collectors edition of the game through backing the Kickstarter campaign.

Complete with its own authentic jewel case it will slot into any retro gaming collection seamlessly. Publisher Akupara Games, has enlisted the help of Huey Games who specialises in bringing old and new games to retro-inspired physical formats, to launch the special USB cassette game launch.

There are two types of USB Cassette available for backers, the £25 (approx $33 USD) Collectors version and the premium £45 (approx $59) Ultra USB Cassette. There is also a super-exclusive Elite Edition bundle for £80 (approx $105).

Developed by Queen Bee games, featuring art from award winning Canadian cartoonist, Jesse Jacobs, Spinch is a 2D platformer where colours truly come alive to hunt down the adorable (and apparently delicious) Spinch, the titular character whose goal is to save its Spinch babies from colourful oblivion.

The collectors USB Cassette will be available to play on Windows (DRM-free).

You can back the Kickstarter here.
