Space Music is a point collecting independent game. Blocks spawn on the rhythm of the song, in a way it works like Guitar Hero or Audio Surf would work. Its based in outer space and you must hit the blocks with your spaceship to earn points while staying away from the skulls. You can collect color blocks that increase the points you have if you hit the same color more then 3 times or 2.

Well the game is just about done with 1.3 stage. What I have been wanting to do is also get a Linux build under way. The source code for Linux is set up and ready for compile. This weekend, hopefully I will install Linux on my Laptop and download a compiler and get the game compiled for Linux.

Linux could always user more fun games that people would enjoy. I'm not sure how the game will perform or how it will look when compiled. But I can always fix it. I want to get the compile done in time when the update is finished and release both at the same time.

Then see what users have to say on the Linux perspective and our users who played it on Windows.

On the update I included sound effects for the blocks and added the spawn distance higher. So this time you can see the blocks come in at you. Then seeing them spawn two feet in front of you. This actually improved game play a bit and made it less difficult for beginners who start playing the game.

I'v also included fixes for the bonus system. Where now you actually get +10 for every block you hit that was the same color as the last. This feature in 1.2 was buggy and was not too well written professionally. Now that I rewrote the algorithm for this. It should remove some bit of jitter to the game and changed the bonus points to +20 points.

Hope you enjoy the 1.3 version when it comes out! I included a small glimbs of the update of the blocks as the News icon. ;)

Thanks, Andrew.
