Hey everyone; this week we're going to delve deeper into the Dreamworld of Somnea.
The dreamworld is a is wide, mysterious and constantly changing place. It is composed of what we call "dream-trees", which grow inside extremely complex structures which modify constantly. These trees grow thanks to the dream of everyone in the world and their imagination, they also allow it the dreamworld to expand as new dreamers comes into Somnea.
Along these trees you will find portals, they are the doors between Somnea. Created randomly during the growth like fruits, they can also appear when two trees collide, allowing dreamers to go from one dream to another. These portals allow dreamers to go through, but they also permit Somnea's inhabitants to come through them.
Dreams are, however, only one part of Somnea. The other is the dark world of the Nightmare. Outside the cloudy border of imagination, trying to invade the dreamland each time they can, the Nightmare corrupt the dreamtrees and portals, invading the dreams with their legion of minions whom the most common is the Shadow.
Even if the Nightmare's wills are mysterious, no doubt that Dreamland's inhabitants see in these attacks a real threat because each time a dream is corrupted by a dark inhabitant, the Nightmare consumes the dreamtrees little by little like a parasite until there's nothing left.
The only way to save a dream is to go inside and fight that nightmares that are hidden away.
We would like to introduce some of the most important residents of Somnea, the unique characters you will meet on your journey.
Beginning with the Sandman, leader of the Dreamland. The Sandman's always looking for new dreamers willing to help him in his crusade against the Nightmare. The sandman is helped by his loyal Fluffies. The Fluffies are small creatures who can always be found smiling. They are the most common inhabitants of the Dreamland, they tend to the dreamland, fix it and repair it when needed and help the dreamers escape from Nightmares. Little information is known about the Shadows. They are numerous, devoid of conciseness and hungry for dreams. They can be compared to ants; Shadows comes into a dream, dismantle the dreams and transport them into the Nightmare to their master, our next character, the Boogeyman.
Mystery amoung mysteries, no one can brag about having ever see the Boogeyman. Its very reality is just a myth, spurred on by the incapacity of the Nightmare's creatures to think by themselves.
Next week, we will introduce our hero into the world of Somnea.
