Welcome to the Second Development Update of PROXIMA ROYALE. Before I jump to the topic I want to say a few words.
Back in February, we revealed PROXIMA ROYALE. Since then we received a lot of feedback, opinions and encouragement from all across the planet. We want to thank everyone who supported us, interacted on social media or on Steam and most importantly our backers! Thank you for all your amazing support!
We are working hard to make the best BR game we can and we are elated to be flying towards Proxima’s Early Access Launch. And let us not forget our official partners, who followed the development since the reveal and also streamed the game for hundreds, if not thousands of hours.
Vulkan Society sends a massive thank you to everyone who spread the word and to everyone who participated in previous alpha waves or streamed the game so far! You are all amazing!
The last couple of months were the most exciting and amazing months I have ever experienced as a human being and also the most hardest and stressful ones. We are working hard, at times we still come to our limits. We always have the goal in our eyes and to be honest it is all worth it as long as there is people out there who love and enjoy what we do. We do it for you and we are going to deliver what we promise. At the end of the day we are human after all, which means we cannot satisfy everyone.
Originally we planned to launch in Q2 2018. This plan soon needed to shift. We want to invest more time to implement all planned features and also to polish the game to give everyone the best possible launch experience, and that was not possible with a Q2 launch window. Now for the good news: PROXIMA ROYALE will still launch this summer! The exact release date will be announced soon.
We made this decision and we hope you understand it. In June we also expanded the production of the project which means we are going to use this extra time and manpower to shape the game towards release. For everyone who is new here: there is currently no way to participate in the Closed Alpha. We had a crowdfunding campaign that allowed interested players to back the project to get access to the Alpha. We are currently looking for ways to provide more humans with access to the game. Make sure to follow our official announcements on Steam and social media!
There are several patches in the works and we will ship them in the upcoming alpha waves. The next patch (0.4.5) will be mainly a new Movement & Animation System. More details will be posted before the release of this patch, slated for June 2018. After this patch we will release 0.5.0. This will bring the LONG awaited Leaderboards as well as Character Customization.
We are also simultaneously working on the level design of the game as well as a rework of the entire map. Points of interests, cities, new buildings and more will be added and changed. These updates will be intermingled with future patches.
We are also working on new weapons. I can say that futuristic Plasma weapons are a thing. We already have some early concept arts. You can expect to see them in the next Development Update.
A lot of content is in the works and a lot of announcements are on the way too!
