Wink woke up in the morning to the grinding of a nearby trash magnet moving car after car after car. Needless to say, he needed to escape the noise. He walked upstairs and found a note on the table from his roommate Mandlebrot: "Meet me on the juniper hill if you want to get away from the noise, it's downright tranquil over there". And with that, he set off to find some inner peace. This is a platformer with interesting graphics and a unique gameplay mechanic: the better you do, the better the graphics and music are. ••• This game is a short preview for a larger game I'm working on •••

Post news Report RSS The Landfill: Juniper Hill

This is the introduction to my new game, Juniper Hill. It takes place in a gross landfill, where an anthropomorphic eyeball and his friends live their lives. There are plenty of dangers, like toxic waste and huge insects hiding out.

This is my newest game, called Juniper Hill, which takes place in a landfill. I've been doodling this character for years, but it wasn't until I thought about putting the guy in a world full of garbage and toxic waste that I really felt I was saying something. As funny as that sounds, I really like this world, and this is a short little view into it. I'm planning on making a few more, kind of like episodes in cartoons or something.

This game finds Wink, the eyeball with a big heart, trying to escape the mess and noise of nearby work in the landfill. You can play through the entire game (although it's missing a boss battle) because I'm mostly working on fixing small bugs and improving graphics and that kind of stuff. There's a small bug in the Mac version that renders the music engine not as cool as in the Mac version, but I'm working on that. I'll be updating this game sporadically, but I hope to finish it within the next month or two.

I originally started this game for GMC Jam 6, but I'm continuing to work on it because I enjoyed the characters and the world I created. I hope you guys enjoy it, and I reaaaaallly hope to hear what you think.
