In the 2.5D sidescroller „Huxley“ you play a little golem of the same name who can use both fire and ice to interact with his environment and fight off enemies. You switch between those elements in order to solve riddles and overcome obstacles. Visually, we oriented ourselves towards games like „Trine“ or „Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams“. Our goal was to create a symbiosis between 2D back- and foregrounds and 3D elements. That's where the imaginative 2.5D look of the game originated from. With „Huxley“ we wanted to focus on the gamepad controls, which is why it works best with an Xbox 360 controller. Of course, a keyboard layout is implemented as well.
