Hello all! My name is Calbert Warner and I am one of three composers for the Crimson Forge.

How long have you been with Crimson Forge?
I have been with the Crimson Forge for a little over a year now. There have been a lot of changes since I have joined the team, but I can say that all changes so far have been nothing but positive.

Is this your first video game project?
This is actually my second video game project. However, this team is far bigger than my first video game project.

What interested you in this project?
I loved the idea of someone creating a classic RPG with a modern twist. I grew up with the classics so I am a big fan of the game play. I think the modern element adds comical, captivating and refreshing dialogue that we can all relate to.

What got you into composing music?
I have always been an avid listener of video game music since playing Super Castlevania 4, Super Mario World and Donkey Kong. Each game had such memorable tunes that had me humming for days on end, but my spark to compose was triggered by Nobuo Uematsu's work (Particularly in FF4 and FF9). He really brought life to the environments of the game and I wanted to bring that same rush of emotion to players as well.

Who/What are some influences for your work?
Nobuo Uematsu, Dave Wise, Yuzo Koshiro, Elton John, Koji Kondo, Nujabes, Zircon, Yoko Shimomura, Aivi Tran, Big Giant Circles, Hans Zimmer. I really don't want to miss anyone because there are so many! These are by far the most influential people on my desire to compose for video games.

Do you have a favorite genre of music?
This question usually kills me because I listen to everything (Yes even Country). I find that I am more drawn to Classical music. Following right behind that would be hip-hop, jazz, and finally electronica.

How many pieces of music are you working on for the game?
That number is not set in stone because this games soundtrack will be massive. We already have a total of 25 tracks and the game did not even begin to start picking up in intensity yet. This is one of the biggest projects I have taken on so far and I am loving it.

Do you have a favorite piece of the soundtrack?
So far I can't say I have a favorite yet, but I have to say Rebecca did a wonderful job on the world map theme. It was shocking how good that came out actually. It really summons up the nostalgia of the classic RPG's I loved and still love today.

Do you have any other works on the web you'd like to share?
Yes I have a Soundcloud and a YouTube.

What are you currently working on for the game now?
I am currently working on two character themes for the time being. It is a little tricky, but I am sure I can cook something up.
There might be another battle theme that needs to be implemented at some point so that might be something to look forward to in the near future.

Hey everybody I'm David, and I'm composing for End of the Fallacy.

How long have you been with Crimson Forge?
It's been about 4 months since I joined them, September 2013. It's pretty funny how it all started. I came across Cal's channel (one of the other composers) and heard his amazing music. It was probably the first time I heard original video game music that was yet to be featured in a game. I was so inspired by his works so I started making my own after commenting on his videos. He saw my very first VGM upload, and after a few more tracks he recommended me to the producer Ramon. Then I was given my three first assignments; a war theme, a boss theme and a mage theme. I enjoyed it so much!

Is this your first video game project?
It is! Well, I helped some friends in their school assignment by making some music to one of their games, but as far as I know it was never released.

What interested you in this project?

It spoke to me on a personal level as I love rpg's. I also really like the complete indie experience with total creative freedom. I also get to work with awesome people which is fantastic! I'm living in Sweden so all communication is either over Skype, Youtube or Facebook. So far, it's working well!

What got you into composing music?

I've had a fascination for music for as long as I can remember. What really got me started was my dad teaching me to play guitar. Without it, I would probably not even be in music at all, so I'm endlessly grateful!

What are some influences for your work?

For this project in particular, it's most definitely, without a doubt, the legendary Nobuo Uematsu. He is truly a master of conveying emotions and a feeling of environmental timbre (if that made any sense). What I meant was when he composes for a cave, it SOUNDS like a cave. That has always inspired me the most about his works.

Do you have a favorite genre of music?

If I had to choose only one genre, it would be metal. But I appreciate most styles, everything from metal and rock, to jazz and electronica.

How many pieces of music are you working on for the game?

Right now it's about 7 or 8, with the possibility of more to come :)

Do you have a favorite piece of the soundtrack?

That's a hard one. Rebecca and Cal are equally impressive, they have their own unique sound! If I had to choose it would be Rebecca's World Map Theme and Cal's Exploring Theme OR Fighting Theme :)

Do you have any other works on the web you'd like to share?

I would love to! My YouTube channel is my main source of music, where I upload my video game music along with guitar covers and occasionally some metal songs. You can find it at this address: www.youtube.com/user/dejjvidguitar

What are you currently working on for the game now?

I'm about to start working on some very interesting character themes. I've gotten very detailed descriptions of them which makes composing a lot easier, and a hell of a lot more fun too!

Thanks for reading this, and I hope you'll play End of the Fallacy! We are a most passionate group of people working on what we love, which I think is displayed well when you get to play it! Cheers from Sweden!!
