Hello Dungeons of Daggerhelm audience!
As you may have noticed, we have been pumping out screen shot images like the Duggars have kids. However, we realize that these images are random or uploaded and then hidden from view. We want to bring them into the limelight.
This image I would like to explain a bit. As I was looking at our flower graphics, they just looked way too simple to match what our game currently looks like. We've got detailed walls, characters, floorboards, etc. but the flowers seemed out of place. So, the sprite designer browsed some ways to draw smaller yet more realistic flowers online, and decided on this kind of look. The two tiles with the three small flowers were the end result of that inspiration. The larger flowers were modified versions of our older flowers, and made them look more dynamic. Hope you like them!
Here is a (unfinished) sample of the sorcerer animation for walking to the right. While in the end it was decided that her dress was too flashy and needed to scale back on colors, her overall appearance still looks like this. The reason why she is female is we want to bring in our lady gamers into the mix and provide them with a character they may relate to. Also to note, the Battle-Mage will also be female, so no worries!
More ground clutter! This sample of the kind of tree we are working on for the game will eventually replace some of the flower tile locations. We don't want the game to get too cluttered, but its nice to have a wide variety of things to look at in-game instead of how we had it before: blocks, and rocks. BOO! Boring!
If you didn't check out this video before, please do so right now! It shows all of the changes we've made to the game pre-flower-graphic update. 90% of what you see in this video is still very applicable for the current version of the prototype download.
Thank you for participating in our project! It means so much to us!
