In this news update, we're going to talk about some things about the game that have been giving us problems.

Hello everybody!

Perhaps you fellow developers can relate to some of the issues we've been having with our code and adding concepts into the game.

I like to be honest with people interested in the game; I don't want to blow anything out of proportion or make something exaggerated to the point where the game looks better than it actually is. The game is a prototype. There are many things wrong with it, and there will be many things wrong with it until we snowball into full development. If you see something wrong with the game already and you haven't even got your hands on the prototype, hooray! Let us know!

One of these issues is with game crashes and fatal errors. For weeks we were struggling with coding how the mobs shoot at the player. We had all the code necessary to make this happen, but the game crashed constantly anyway. I messed around with it... a lot... and still nothing. Crash, crash, crash! All the time, every time.

Meanwhile, our music composer Ryan Camus made a sample for Dungeons of Daggerhelm's spawn level. It was a fantastic piece, mind you; a superior piece of work. However, what we both noticed was that it did not necessarily fit with a spawn level at all. In fact, I am happy to say, Ryan actually composed the game's main theme by accident!

Needless to say, as the game's lead designer, I was very excited to hear the stuff he had developed over the last few weeks. However, because we swapped out the purpose for his piece, he's behind with music composing, which is perfectly fine with us. So, as an update on music, we have some, and we know where we're going with it, but we have neither music for the spawn level, nor do we know exactly how to add it yet. Java is a mysterious language.

Oh, not to get off topic, but we've made the mobs shoot and everything now. Everything's almost playable. The mobs shoot roughly once every 0.01 second and one-shot the player, but beyond that.....
