The new 3D adventure-platformer "Deo" is now available on Desura.
The ultimate 3D platformer Deo coming out ot June 21 on Desura. The game will feature 24 levels across 5 worlds, each with their own unique background...
O my, someone actually made a 3D platformer. And while not saying much, it's probably the best indie one I've played. But why oh why is there no analog control? Analog is vital to the genre (which is probably why the genre is so unpopular on PC). It would drastically improve the game if you added it.
Thanks for sharing your thought on the game. Well.. the game supports joystick/gamepad. You can also use the left analog stick for movement. May be some kind of problem with your gamepad? The game has been tested with many types of joystick/gamepads.
I know you can use the analog stick, what I mean is that there's no analog sensitivity and only 8 directional movement.
hmm, I am not sure if I undestood you clearly. If you mean about the analog vibration, yes there is no vibration. The 8-directional movement is standard for the 3D platformers, the game isn't a racing simulator anyway...
I'm not talking about analog triggers that racing sims use, just the stick. The whole reason analog sticks were invented is to have 360 degree movement at variable speed. What 3D platformers have 8-directional movement? Maybe old 90's PC ports from when PC had no analog, but now the Xbox pad is the standard for PC.
"What 3D platformers have 8-directional movement?"
Yes
How many platformer games use 8+ directions ?
Huh? I don't know what you mean by that, but to avoid causing even more confusion I was asking which 3D platformers were limited to ONLY 8 directions. I'm pretty sure it's just games that were designed for a d-pad or keyboard.
Uhh..I bought Deo, to give it a chance, and it won't even boot up.

Great.
Install DirectX and run Deo as administrator.
Every single application, installed in program files require administrative rules in order to write there.
I don't suppose you would consider adding mod support, theres not enough of this style of game and user based content could add hours more content.
Also maybe the character could be modded to look 'different' if you get my drift?
yep, this has been already suggested by other people as well. However adding such a thing to the game is a quite effort and if we decide to do it we may run a Kickstarter for it.
Give me the option to change the main character into a dragon/gryphon/chimera or something silly like that and I'd be happy without mods xD .... the main charactor's face kinda creeps me out >.>;
or they could just add a few other characters. if they do a dragon character it should be a spoof on spyro cause of all the flak they get from the similar look. if they want to stay away from that i'm sure they could come up with something, a unicorn with rainbow attacks?
ya, it would be a nice joke on it. Maybe a cheat code? Remeber those?
Hes an angel style character so a Grphon or heck a Pegasus would work here. Fire breathing Pegasus..... ya, why the heck not! xD Make it half dragon or something... yes do this! xD
