Crawl puts the player in the role of a mental physician who has entered his patient’s mind in order to deal away with their traumas. Taking inspiration from traditional first-person dungeon crawling games of yesteryear, Crawl breathes new life into a classic genre by introducing a verb system and action-timing combat. Throughout the game the player will traverse incredible dream worlds, fight bizarre infections, and reunite memory fragments. Crawl is a student project and is in some ways heavily flawed; however, it is an impressive demonstration of how far the Game Maker engine can be stretched.

This looks very pretty. Will give it a try.Good luck!
can we get a download link for the menu song please ? :)
Which game engine you use in your game?
Here is the link to the menu song (look under Aaron P, the song is "Jolly Wartime"): Derekyu.com
In regards to the engine, Crawl uses the 3D components of Game Maker 8.1; everything else, including the way levels are generated and gameplay logic works, was designed by myself in GML. If there is demand I might release the source, but it isn't very pretty.
I would love to see the source for this. I love the aesthetic here.
The source would be great because the engine is so sweet and therefore could be used in many other games.
Made a first impressions video
K guys, after being drowned by the demand of two people, I have decided to release the source Game Maker file for Crawl. Check it out on the downloads page.
Also, Playinithard, thanks for making that video! Free publicity is beautiful.
Thank you!! Thats really going to be helpful for us :D
By the way, is the map randomly generated?
um.. the source file is not included in the zip file.
anyway the game is great!! I didnt noticed a whole 1 hour has passed
Did you check out the other download on the downloads page? The .zip download for the game does not include the source; maybe I wasn't clear in my speech, and for that I must apologize. I checked the other download though that is supposed to have the source and it was there, so I'm guessing your problem is not looking in the right spot.
Ok, I'll check it. Thanks!
I love seeing game maker 8 actually being used to make something this impressive.
