Post news Report RSS Drawing Process for our latest game

This shows the stages of our art in one of our latest games.

When we Start The art process we can end up starting at many different stages from a sketch to a digital outline.

In our latest released game, we thought we would take the time to share how we get to a finish product like this image.

So It often starts with an idea of a background or character and then devolves in to a lot of arguing and a crumpled mess/erased white boards. Chris Ashe or Jared Ashe will give the art a one over or even work on it themselves if they aren't busy programming.

So here is where this bee started.

Once one of our artist gets an idea that is ready to be transferred to the digital medium we scan in the work and then trace the art in a Vector art tool like Inkscape for example.

Here is what our be looks like after the line trace work:

Then once this is done we Move the outline over to a Full blown photo editing tool in our case Adobe Photoshop CS5. We then began to color in the drawing and add shading and transparency. Once this is done we would add it to a sprite strip or background file and import it into our game.

This Particular image became the sprite for the player and end up with animated wings.
You can look up Floppy Flap Bee on the App Store or Google play to check out the final product.
