Starship Troopers 2005 Premastered addon

This is a complete overhaul of all textures in the game. Its a massive mod, base game 4-5gb, mod game size 24gb plus for half rez version 40gb plus for full rez. Im amazed the base game engine even allowed this. All of them have been upscaled atleast 4x, some much more, using AI upscaling models designed for each file type. Also I have AI upscaled all video clips to 4K using Topaz Video AI. COMING SOON!! OPTIONAL AS EATS MUCH MORE ROOM.

Some UI textures remain same such as font and buttons as the engine didnt allow them to upscale without messing stuff up.

I found this game to be quite underrated and since Starship Troopers Extermination is multiplayer only I though I'd replay this instead but the graphics are really dated now so just wanted to make it a little more easy on the eye on modern screens.

INSTRUCTIONS ON USE| BACKUP YOUR INSTALLATION FIRST!!!!! EXTRACT MY FILES!!!! THEN OVERWRITE WITH MY FILES!!!! The folders are labeled correctly for you so just copy and paste over.

First of all you must go to C:\Users\"Your User Name"\Documents\Empire Interactive\SST Back up your files somewhere safe and delete all files and folders in here as they may not be compatible with the mod and cause crash to desktop. You will lose all your settings and saves and have to redo them but this cant be helped due to the games limitations.

Run stgame.exe and make a new profile. Go through all the options menus and set all your settings. Set the resolution to the highest it lets you. Once done exit the game and go back to C:\Users\"Your User Name"\Documents\Empire Interactive\SST open the settings folder and open global.settings with your text editor. Find

ScreenYRes: { "2160" } <set these to your monitor resolution and then save

ALSO CHECK ONLINE FOR FIXES TO SOME KNOWN GLITCHES ON CERTAIN HARDWARE. I dont have these glitches on my hardware so cannot replicate them but you may do. They are well known and fixes are available for them just dont update the game or replace the exe as this can mess up the mod!! FOV CHANGER SHOULD BE FINE TO USE ON THE EXE THOUGH AND IT MAKES A BACKUP JUST INCASE. RUN IT AND ENTER YOUR MONITOR RES TO PATCH THE EXE!! Ive included it for your convenience but THIS FOVCHANGER IS NOT MY WORK!!! CREDIT FOR THIS GOES TO THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR SUICIDE MACHINE!!!

The executable is pre patch to allow modding to bypass .slak files but I have manually applied the fixes such as BrainBug folder named correctly I extracted the patch files from the update slak files and applied them manually. (I think I got them all but if I missed any and they cause a bug let me know on comments and I will try to fix any problems).

Also look into trying RESHADE to add better Antialiasing and RAYTRACED GLOBAL ILLUMINATION (RTGI RTX and AMD EQUIVELANT GPUS ONLY OBVIOUSLY!!). I found it to work well with the games engine. Install for DX9!!
Also I recommend you force V sync for this game using your graphics control panel.

I would like to have released the whole game files for everyone given the game is abandonware and not for sale anymore but some jobs worth would probably take me to court.

PS I have a few old games in the process of what I call Premaster. Just something to bring them back to life until a Software House or Mod Group with more time and better programming skills than me can get round to full remastering them using a modern game engine with no limitations that the old engines do.
