Sandbox 7 introduces several things to improve performance. New resource management, new settings which are hopefully easier to understand, and a performance benchmark that suggests settings. Other features include blood streams and simple dismemberment.

I saw simple dismemberment and instantly got excited
It is very simple indeed, I haven't spent much time on making it look good. I added it because so many have asked :) I will work on making it look better over time.
After testing it, I don't actually see any dismemberment. How would I trigger it exactly?
For now it's only triggered by explosions from fragmentation grenades and door traps. So a simple way is to hug a frag.

After this update I have noticed the audio now just sounds drowned out. Is this on purpose or is there a way to disable it?
Thanks for mentioning this. I recently had to reinstall my computer after a hard drive failure and my audio drivers have changed. So I thought it was only on my end, although there was another one who mentioned this as well.
I'll take a look and see if I can figure out what it is, then I'll patch it.
I feel like the bolt action on the marksman needs some serious work, it's super hard to get the gun to feed a new round once you've fired one. Is there any chance of adding in a not bolt action sniper as a different choice? The Bolt mechanic just controls really strange and feels really sticky but other than that I love everything about this.
Hi, it sounds like I need to improve it. I could make it less sensitive for the direction you move the mouse, and I could also add configurable sensitivity for the movements. In time there will also be more rifles and then I could add something self-loading.

Working the bolt isn't so bad, but I have noticed that getting it to actually feed a new round seems iffy. Sometimes I have to slide the bolt in and out several times to get a new round to fire.
It also always seems to show a round in the chamber, even if you've run out of ammo and need to reload, and it can make it a little difficult to tell that you have.
Right, yes I think I've seen that too. Problem is I don't know when it happens. I can't reproduce it so it's been difficult to track down. Let me know if you figure out when it happens, that would be a great help.
may i ask how much money the game will cost when it is on steam?
I don't know that yet, but an entirely speculative figure would be $10. That would also include content that isn't developed yet. If I were to sell it in its current state it would probably be closer to $5.
that would actually be really cheap for a game that is so good!

I haven't played these demos for a while so this is a huge improvement over the last time i played. I especially love the slider to increase the force that bullets cause on hit. I know it's not exactly realistic but it's fun to see your rounds really punch the targets. Honestly, i think it could be taken even further, to the point where a shotgun blast at point blank range will send suspects flying for a very short distance.
I'd also like to ask, is there any way to make suspects, who you managed to restrain without taking them down, get on their knees or even go prone to avoid getting shot by accident? Personally, i love an option to have them get on their knees or on the floor automatically upon being cuffed.

Hi, thanks for the feedback! In the earlier versions you could get them flying long distances. But it also made the physics bug out so I scaled it down for this release to keep it in check. There's no way to make the occupants get down or out of harm's way in the current version but it would make sense to add that. It's a bit tricky for me to get them to lay down but hopefully I can figure something out.

When are you planning on adding bigger caliber guns?
I'm working on a weapon overhaul but I don't know which new guns will be added yet. I will probably add a .50AE pistol because that has been requested by many.

Any chance of getting a stock and medium/long length barrels as attachments for the sawed off shotgun?
I'd also like to request the Beretta as a weapon addition. I feel like it would fit right in with the other handguns.
Besides that, have you ever concidered adding explosive weapons (not grenades) to the sandbox mode for experimentation purposes? I'm talking about, for example, grenade launchers, which could show off the dismemberment system better than having to toss a grenade and hope it tears something off.
I'm in the process of a complete overhaul of the weapons system. It's going to take some time but when it's done it will be much easier for me to create variations of the same weapon. So yes it will be possible with both the shotgun and a Beretta. I've been thinking about a grenade launcher too, but I'll only say maybe.. :)

Loving the demo so far but I find that I often have situations where a suspect has no weapon but still refuses to put their hands up and surrender so you are basically forced to shoot the unarmed person in places such as the legs in order to get them to surrender.
I have noticed in the controls there is a keybinding for verbal commands but as far as I have been able to tell it does nothing. I know the beanbag weapons are there but every time I pull one out I find myself getting demolished because they are ineffective.
To be honest this is the only real complaint I could possibly come up with, if something was put in to combat this it would be basically perfect.
Thanks! Yes that's something I plan to address quite soon. I've been working on it some already. In fact the verbal command key is part of that but it's not connected to anything (really it shouldn't have been there in the current release).

Currently there's no way to change the skins. But I want to add that in the future. I want to add a couple of modding tools / editors and a skin editor would be one of them.

There's not much I can do with that little information. I'd say start with checking your antivirus. Some have thrown false positives for my installers so it could be that blocking it.
