“A mutant hero battles virus-altered foes in alternate history sidescroller” Plaguebound is a sidescroller and 2D platformer game set in an alternate timeline where a biology alternating virus attacked the world again. We follow our main protagonist, a mutated human that, mysteriously, managed to gain the mutation's powers while also maintaining his human cognitive functions, making him a powerful being that could take the fight to the entities that emerged from the mutations.
Hello everyone, in this week's DevLog we'll show the continuation of the art (on the UI aspect) of the game and also a little peak of the character at the end.
Please keep in mind that none of this is finished and is still a Work In Progress.
In this image we show you the Credits Screen on the Menu. Please keep in mind that these are all still Works in Progress. In it we try to continue with the same "sticky" and "goo-like" aesthetic of the game and of the buttons.
Here we can see the Options Menu. We still aren't sure if these are the options that will be will be available when the work is finished. We also forgot to mention that to help show what screen is selected, on the left of the screen the buttons are pushed a little to the right, depending on what menu is selected. For example, here, because we are in the options menu, the OPTIONS button is pushed out.
This is the How To Menu. This is just a placeholder, obviously this won't be what it says in the final version and also we still aren't sure on some of the keybinds. Plus, the console keybinds are also missing. That all should be fixed soon.
And this is the Are You Sure? Screen. This is show up when you click to Quit the game or, when in the Pause Menu, you click to go back to the Main Menu. This is to make sure no one gets out of the game accidentaly.
And finally, this si the Pause Menu. It's the same as the Main Menu, for now, with the difference that the gameplay (placeholder) is in the background and a little darkened when paused.
To close this DevLog, as said in the beggining, we'll show you a sneak preview of a preliminary view of our character.
This is all for this week's DevLog. See you next week!
