Hello internet! This week's post is going to be a bit different, as it is being written by your one and only programmer! Please bear with me while I try to mimic our game designer's energy.

The development of our project has been relatively slow. With everything pretty much decided in terms of what we want the game to actually look like, we began working on the game's main shading system! (Who knew making a custom lighting system would be hard) It has been a rather problematic implementation, but being a massive challenge in development, we see that it is better to get it over with right now, as we prepare to ship out a propper build for private closed testing sessions. All that is left is to merge the game map where the lighting is being built on with the build where our basic mechanics are working as intended.

This is an old photo, but serves to show how... messy things once were.

Regarding programming, all major bugs in the current build have been fixed! Previously, not acchieving the win condition in your first attempt at solving our "puzzle" would break the game. Obviously, that was a MASSIVE problem, but the code has been revised and reworked (almost completely) to allow you to fail as many times as you want!

Look at how neatly organized everything can be!

As to what we will do during the next few weeks of development, we want to start properly testing our game with selected testers as soon as possible. Although we're a bit late on it, user testing is very important in order to fine tune our game so that it is as pleasing to play as it can be. After that, propper menu navigation and UI implementation is on the plans.

There are still a few specifics that will be talked over in the next few devlogs, but for now, thank you for lending me your eyeballs for 3 minutes reading, and stay tuned for more updates!
