Long in the making, this is the new Unity-based sandbox demo with the name Crisis Response.
Main features:
- Detailed model for projectile ballistics
- Blood and gore on top of a sophisticated physiology system
- Bullet time and slow motion
- Detailed and realistic weapon mechanics
- Sandbox setting with extra controls
The game is packaged as an installer. Please leave a comment if you encounter any issues installing or running it.
I will add forums to the IndieDB page. I hope I can get lots of feedback on the game from you there. My plan ahead is to release quite often. Basically when new features or fixes are ready.
And a BIG thanks to everyone who has been following my progress! YOU have kept me motivated.
Please help me get the word out about this demo, share it with your friends and the internet. The first one who shows me a youtube video featuring it will get to pick the next weapon I'll add!
Holy ****.. this is it...
Dude, that was like the next second after I pressed upload :D
Rly? :D I just turned on the computer like 3min ago and the first thing i checked was this website
Aww yis. I've been waiting for this.
Downloaded, now installing. Cant wait to play! I've been watching this project ever since it first started. I cant wait to test how it is right now!
Sweet, looking forward to hear what you think!
Very realistic as far as gun mechanics, blood mechanics, the characters suffering from traumatic head injuries and other traumatic injuries leading to spasms. What I really liked is how when you're switching weapons if you keep firing, you can accidentally shoot yourself. I know this game is in early works, which explains lack of animations. But so far its looking good. Some suggestions I got is the ability to add different floors, and how many stairs or elevators there will be in the building, and building generation should be different. I will play more and see what else I think should be added, or what features can be worked on, and what I like. Good luck and bring greatness! This so far was an enjoyable experience.
Thanks! Yes multiple floors is definitely something I want to do, it would add a lot of tactics if you can take different routes through a level.
YESssssssss
i cant believe its finally here i cant wait :)
It's so nice to finally have it out the door! I've wanted to have it as good as possible before releasing but it will never be perfect. Now I can simply keep iterating so you'll see more releases from now on. :)
ive been playin it these past 2 days and i gotta say i ran into zero bugs and it was a lot of fun also would love to see a return of that sniper u concepted in the videos a while back. all in all had a great time and cant wait to see what u add next
Thanks that's great news. The sniper is one of the features I will get on with now. And I look forward to it!
I ******* CAME ALL OVER MY KEYBOARD GIMME THAT RIGHT NOW
I ******* LOVE YOU SO MUCH MAN
Now what i'd REALLY like to see added is something to take cover behind. So far, ducking down doesn't really do too much.
I've been thinking that too, the firefights would be much more interesting then. I'm planning to add movement in the third direction to make it work. It would also help showcase the terminal ballistics that I've put so much effort into.
Oh yes! It's time to operate :)
It looks great so far. This game has lots of potential. Keep it up, dude!
Thanks I will! This was a milestone, now lots more will follow.
It is there? OHHHH YEAH!!
This is probably the coolest swat simulator I've ever seen! can't wait to play the full game!
Thanks I'm glad to hear that! And the full game will feature a lot more in that respect :)
This feels unreal dude, downloading now, super hyped
:D Drop back later and tell me what you think! Good and bad.
Excellent work, 10/10!
Thanks plyuto :)
After 2 days of trying out the only bug i found was when a body is in the doorway, and you close the door it sometimes glitches and makes it disappear. I reckon you already know about it, i just wanted to point that out incase you don't. Other than that the sandbox is great!
PS: This needs AK-47 i would love to see how 7.62x39 would perform :D.. and of course maybe for the fun and trolls a Barrett M82 .50cal XD
Thanks, that's great! Yeah I knew about the bodies and the doors but thanks anyway. The AK-47 is totally a given, I'll probably add that soon. The M82 would be fun too haha let's see...
this is great dude. love the sounds and the design. if only there were hostages.
Thanks. I'm working on adding hostages, it will never be complete without them. Mainly it's difficulties animating the characters that is preventing me but I'm about to start looking at a new solution for this. I want a lot more animation on all the characters, for all the actions, reloading etc.
Hey, are you still working on the sniper stuff you've shown to us back in the Demo 1-2-3 days
It looked pretty awesome and original and refreshing and it would be awesome if you brought it back in some way.
Yes that's one of the first things I will add to the sandbox now.
So is there any way to capture someone alive and without turning them into swiss cheese first? Some suspects will run away in fear or just stand around and do nothing. Can we somehow restrain those without taking them down? I imagine a taser, pepper spray or just a good ol' nightstick would do the trick.
Otherwise I've been having loads of fun with this. I am not surprised shotgun slugs, 9 times out of 10, don't just wound but rather almost instantly kill whoever they hit. Watching people fly backwards in slowmotion, after you hit them with a slug and had the force multiplier up, is really fun too.
I think i did knock one out with the stun grenade but it had to land right under him. In any other case, the stun grenade doesn't seem to do anything.
Thanks for the comments.
I have a lot of work to do on visual (and other) feedback. More animations is one key to this. The occupants see much shorter distance and they hear much less when they are stunned. How much depends on how close the stun goes off. This buys you more time to deal with them but like you say there is no visual cue that they are stunned.
The reason that they don't give up is also that I don't have animations for that yet, it is something I'm working on. Later you will be able to capture them alive. Then, once they are compliant you will be able to restrain them.
Sounds good. That, together with hostages, will be some good reasons to actually not just gun everyone down.
YEEEEEEEEEESSSS FINALLY I CAME HERE CAUSE VALENTIN DID A VIDEO. I VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Great to hear that!
My body is ready.
This demo is amazing, loved it!
The only complaint i have is the linearity of the level, you can just shoot forward at the start and basically kill everyone inside the building. Adding more verticality to the level or limiting the bullets range to the corner of the screen could fix these problems.
Thanks! Yeah I have plans to add more dimensions to movement and bullets. However stray bullets is something I want to have for the realism, but that is more for the campaign mode I'm working on. In the sandbox like you say there's currently no real reason to hold back on shooting.
Outstanding work. Keep it up!
been looking forward to this. are you still planning on getting it on steam?
I'm going to wait a while and see what greenlight turns into (since Valve are changing it). So we'll see.
