Enough multi-player games. Enough MMOs. Gimme fun games that focus on single player gameplay rather than multiplayer gameplay. But if you intend on focusing your game on Coop or multiplayer. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY ON THIS GODFORSAKEN EARTH, ADD ONLINE SUPPORT!!@!! No one WANTS to play a local PC coop game.

I do agree online support should be included from the start on co-op focused games. However, there are many people out there who love to play local co-op games with their real life friends.

Yes, but how many of those people are talking about PC games. The hassle for local PC multiplayer is just silly. I love console local play, but PC local play is silly and even more so when it's the only form of multiplayer you bother to put in your game.

I was talking about PC games, I don't own consoles that I play. I think if you have the opportunity to add local co-op but not online, that's perfectly fine. PC Local play is amazing, just cause you don't use it doesn't make it silly :P

I have 4 Xbox 360 gamepads connected to my PC through a wireless adapter, and a HDMI cable connecting my PC to the TV.
You wouldn't believe the fun we have. I would never trade this for online play with random 12 year old kids blabbing about their K/D ratio or whatever...

No hassle at all when you got 4 pc's that remain in one giant room!

I want more local co-op on PC. it's a damn shame that it's incredibly rare so i'm not sure why you are shouting for online co-op since that is the prevailing feature for co-op PC games right now.

Local PC co-op means you have to have the computers actually connected right? Because I can't see that being convenient if you only have your own computer and your friend can't exactly lug their PC to your house, or you have to somehow find an event hosting a LAN party, but that's me.

local co-op usually means playing on the same Pc. usually splitscreen or shared screen. games that play through connected Pc's are technically online but thats refered to LAN play since you dont need an internet connection but it still relies on the host/client based programming.

I think that local co-op is much better just because you can interact and discuss about every movement that you may or may not do. In online co-op you won't talk about these simple elements of the which are mostly really important game just because you're not in the interacting with your friend.

What people seem to not understand is that having local coop and multiplayer is fine. But if you're going to put it in your game, you better put some online functionality as well.

Yup more singleplayer games are needed for example wurm online singleplayer with good AI (like ai towns you can trade with etc) rather than paying real money for most things. And there wont be idiotic players. (not saying all are idiots in mmo's but many are)

Single player rules, but a good co-op game can really enhance it. It all depends on who you're playing with.

I prefer story or action-based cooperative gameplay similar to projects like Sven Coop, Obsidian Conflict, or Synergy. That is what I crave for. Only problem, is like competivite multiplayer, there are also annoying trolls that will ******** with your time and ruin the gameplay experience enough to even make you just uninstall the game and never play it again.

Single player with co-op option and a nice storyline would be perfect for me :) I don't care if it is local co-op or online. Just playing story line not alone would be fantastic :)

I've just restarted my whole game engine to support online multiplayer, I decided it was needed to make the game something more than just a time waster. Its a lot easier than I expected to get up and running, but still very hard to smooth the rough edges off, slowing progress down to crawl, but I still think its worth it in the particular case.

Too many MMOs. And too many Multiplayer Zombie Survivals. It's really sad to see that those two are the core of indie developer's interest in games. Let this year be one where we have less addictive mobile-app games, less Indie MMOs, and less Zombie Survivals. Let 2014 be a year for some great, Singe-player gaming!

APEXICON's development will be first and foremost for Singleplayer enjoyment, then later co-op and multi. But it's all about what you experience as a lone adventurer in a written world.
