Hey guys, I just wanted to give a brief update on the status of the custom story. A little after my last news post, I injured myself at work. I pinched a nerve in my back and due to this I could only stand up straight or lay down flat without intense pain, sitting on a chair was out of the question. I tried to work on the custom story a bit from a standing or laying position but I kept making mistakes. What's worse is I spilled soda on my keyboard and my glasses got broken so half my buttons keep sticking and the other half I can't see right (don't worry about that though, I get paid tomorrow and will be getting new glasses and a new keyboard.) Anyway, I'm fine now and back to work on the custom story. The story itself is done 100%. I know, I know, I should just shut up and release it now. However I'm now finishing up a few bonus features after the credits (a minigame I wanted to include, some notes about the development, commentary, stuff like that.)
I'll harp on this till the day I die: This custom story was never meant to be as big as the original. It is a mini sequel. I tell you this because it has been over 2 years since I announced it but suffice it to say that in that time I have probably only put about 60% as much time into it as I did the original.
I'm also writing a novel. I've always wanted to be an author and have like 10 unfinished books on my hard drive. It will be a novelization of A Late Night Drink and The Last Sipppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp. (decided to leave that in so you can see what's going on with my keyboard lol) Although it mostly just goes over the events of the game, it does so in a unique way not seen in the game and I managed to put in all kinds of cool stuff that wasn't possible in the custom story. A small snippet of this novel will be available in the "bonus" room after the credits, so check it out.
Anyway, I'll shut up and get back to work.
Take your time, that is most important. I don't care how long I'll have to wait, as long as you release the finished product the way you want to have it.
