Hey everyone! Perpetual Games is a brand new indie game studio based in the UK. Our team have been hard at work for the last 9 months building a world and a vision for our first game, Elegos. We aren’t by any means finished, it’s just time to bring everyone in for the rest of our journey.
Our aim is to create a good and honest game that is built with its community in mind. Not only do we want to build a game that is, of course, fun to play but also fun to play with, by encouraging modding from day one.
This blog will be where we share our honest updates with you — it’ll likely be a nice mix of showing off stuff we’re proud of and maybe some things that are downright embarrassing 😁 but you can’t make an omelette without breaking some eggs, learning is all part of the journey.

What is Elegos?
Elegos is a first-person immersive RPG where every action matters. It is being built using the Unity game engine with a core focus on being easily and highly moddable… (more details on their way!).
The game is set in an alternate history approximately 330 BCE during the time of Alexander the Great. Our version of this timeline exists in a world largely populated by intelligent mythological creatures, known as Mytha.
The player inhabits a world where discrimination and inequality are rife and will need to navigate a complex world of divisive politics and uncover a blood-stained past. How they do so is entirely up to them.
Our Initial Roadmap 🗺️
This is a fairly large scale Indie project, so in order to build the game in a sustainable way, you the players will be vital to our journey.
Phase 1 — The Prologue
The Prologue will be an entirely self-contained experience set on the Island of Phacos. This playable area has been designed and built to showcase the core elements of gameplay that the player can expect from the full game and introduce its modding capabilities.

We aren’t quite at the stage where we can unveil too much of the story told in this initial phase of the game but that will come as we share our wider vision of the game world and as the development of the Prologue continues.
The goals of the Prologue are to achieve the following:
- Teach the gameplay mechanics of Elegos ⚔️✨
- Introduce the narrative world 📚
- Introduce key characters 🤴👸
- Begin the building of a modding community 🛠️
- Firmly establish our art style 🎨
- Wow the player 😍

We want to share as much of our journey with you as possible, this will include everything from pretty screenshots and gifs, to long-form articles about working with Unity, insights into sound design, narrative design, concept art and so much more.
