Emotional Robots has been a little cautious when posting media updates due to various third parties showing interest, but that is about to change. It's always irked us that we weren't being as transparent as we would've liked, so we're going to do something about it! From now until release our media updates will be much more frequent and our communities surrounding the Warm Gun title will grow. We want to do some really cool things like fan-based contests (with legit prizes) as well as user input for the game itself. We are all hardcore FPS gamers and our goal is to make a game that reflects our passion to drive competition and fun to new levels. We also know how important it is to weigh in feedback from players and fans so we will be starting that process soon and will continue long after Warm Gun has been released.

We've uploaded the second of two gameplay videos we've put together for November - it's showcasing half of our characters and they're using primarily their main weapons. The maps that are showcased are probably familiar to most our followers - Heart of Darkness, Lost Highway and Red River Canyon. We still have a ton of new things to add to these maps and characters, but we also know that seeing the same environments gets boring over time. We have 7 other maps being assembled as well as an additional 3 characters and a slew of weapons (that aren't all guns!). We will be rotating updates across the entire game.

Warm Gun Gameplay 02 video - Indie DB Beta footage - HUD isn't final

We want to explain a little how our future updates will be organized. We're going to work off of a couple general categories, listed below:

  • Developer Diaries
  • Level/Art Showcases
  • Gameplay Showcases
  • Art/Wallpaper downloads and other various SWAG
  • Notable business-oriented updates
  • Our tour schedule (as events that we are attending get close, we will let you know)
  • Our hiring status

No matter what type of update we're doing we will include some sort of new screenshots or visual candy. We know an all-text update is boring as hell so we won't do that to you guys.

With that said, we're going to leave you with a new wallpaper:

It's quite large so we will be getting different resolutions posted in the next day or two. Remember, you guys have a few empowering hours left to vote for the Indie of the Year awards! Make sure your vote is cast so we can see you in the next round!

3D objects and textures are insanely purty, but I'm not completely convinced when it comes to gameplay yet...

Looking really good guys! I like the fact that the objective(?) effects the environment in a very big way, it makes the game much different then the gameplay styles then most multiplayer work out there. Keep it up!

Looks cool, although one question, why in the video did the machine gun/Gatling gun thing take forever to kill one guy whereas the shotgun was killing everyone in one hit? Seems like a balance issue but I haven't played the game so I wouldn't know! Anyway keep up the good work guys ;D

Balance issue :) We're doing some rough balancing right now but aren't fine-tuning until all the weapons are in-game. That way we don't waste time balancing a weapon that will be completely dwarfed by another weapon.

I was looking in the iPhone section of ModDB and I stumbled onto this. I watched your video and then checked up on your profile tab and it says that this game is only for PC. Is there going to be an iOS port?

The newest plan is to release Warm Gun on PC, iPad and iPhone. The iPad/iPhone versions are still uncharted territory for us as developers, but we have the tools and capability so we'll get it done.
